Kyle got out of his crib this morning! He was as hyper this morning as I've ever seen him--I'm not sure why. He was acting extremely tired, but screamed & screamed when put down for his morning nap. Mark was still home, and when Kyle was still screaming about 10 minutes later, Mark went in to get him out again, and found Kyle on the floor heading towards the door of his room!! Kyle is 16 months old as of yesterday and only about 30 inches tall! (Ryan didn't get out of the crib until 20 months and even then only got out on one day and then never again until we bought him a toddler bed at 30 months.) The crib mattress just on the next-to-lowest level out of about 5, so now we did move it to the lowest level. There is also a couch next to Kyle's crib, and Kyle sees Ryan climb on the couch to get in & out of Kyle's crib all the time, so he probably got out onto the couch (I hope he did, instead of falling!), though I don't know how he lifted himself high enough in the first place. He is a strong little guy & quite physically adept! But if this happens again we'll probably move the couch out of his room in case that is giving him ideas... I am SO not ready for him to be in a bed! He knows what they are for and likes to lay in them for about 20 seconds, but mainly likes to jump on them and would never stay in one to sleep!

This morning Mark was compiling a shopping list and Ryan said we should buy candles. Mark asked what kind of candles, and Ryan said, "4 birthday candles or one birthday candle that looks like a 4." Doesn't look like his next birthday stands any chance of passing by unnoticed...since it's still 3 months away! ;-) It is true that we had talked about it a week ago or so. I had asked, jokingly, if he just wanted to sleep the whole day on his birthday instead of having a party, and he said, "No, having a party makes you more 4."
