Big news--today was Ryan's first day to wear real underwear most of the day, and he stayed dry all day!! As a reward, he got a coveted Clifford toy at bedtime. We'd gone to JC Penney yesterday to pick out some underwear for him, and were amazed to find they had just come out with Clifford underwear--even Clifford firefighter underwear, combining Ryan's two current obsessions! So we got those...but they'd also come out with a lot of other Clifford merchandise, including a stuffed Clifford's doghouse complete with Clifford and his best friends, Emily Elizabeth, T-Bone, and Cleo. Ryan grabbed it from the shelf ecstatically, saying, "Thank you, Mommy!" His joy with this toy was so great, we told him he could have it as an early birthday present (his birthday is this week)...but only when he stayed dry all day. He did not make it through yesterday, but was determined to get that toy tonight, and did! We have told him that if he stays dry most of the week, we will go to some sort of waterpark next weekend...his fondest wish!
In other milestones, Kyle got his second tooth on the 6th of August, has started rolling around the floor quite a bit, and is trying to get himself into a sitting position. Today he came thisclose to doing so. He also got into the funniest position--kind of a push-up with his head, hands, and feet on the floor, and the rest of him up in the air. Too bad I didn't catch it on film. He's also been in a great, glowy mood a lot of the time lately--grinning and laughing a lot, even though he also still has some very cranky episodes. But both kids are really making us proud parents lately! Ryan Phrase of the Day: Ryan couldn't find the moon in the sky tonight, and said, "Maybe someone else is sharing the moon."
